The Problem

On 1.1.2020 the Marine Industry will have to be ready for the landmark regulation passed by the International Maritime Organization regarding the control of SOx emissions from engines using marine heavy fuel. The regulations stipulate that 0.1% Sulfur or equivalent be used in Emission Control Areas (ECAs) and 0.5% sulfur fuel or equivalent be used globally. Using low sulfur distillates or the hybrid ECA fuels is very expensive. Use of LNG or biofuels has a limited coverage.

Our scrubber can work with the open loop, closed loop or hybrid options. There is high particulate matter removal from the exhaust. The exhaust from both the main engine and auxiliary engines can be scrubbed.
